Colfax Community Network

Colfax Community Network or CCN advocates for and works on behalf of children and families residing in low-income, transient housing – primarily residential motels – along Colfax Avenue. By providing information, services and programs, we strengthen and improve family and community life.

A Home Away from Homelessness

Colfax Community Network creates a safe place where children can learn and grow, while being nurtured and motivated.  At CCN, parents are offered the tools they need to provide for their family’s well being. CCN’s outreach helps address the isolation felt by many homeless families. CCN is an Aurora based non-profit that was formed in 1999.

What We Do

  • Parent Child Education
  • Access to Services Project
  • Food Bank & Hygiene Items

After School Program

CCN serves 25 children daily in a safe, productive environment in which to study and play in the hours after school. Staff and volunteers assist in developing strong academic skills and a love of learning, while the kids also enjoying field trips, art programs, swimming, reading and games.  Children in the program range from 1st-5th graders from local elementary schools.

Parent Child Education

Program provides a fun atmosphere in which parents and their toddlers can engage in educational play while making connections with other parents and resources in the community.

Access to Services Project

Initiated to address the isolation felt by many homeless families, each week Colfax Community Network staff visit 3-4 motels to talk with families, assess their needs, deliver basic hygiene items, provide referrals and offer CCN programs and services.

Food Bank & Hygiene Items

CCN operates a small food bank and children’s clothing bank, and offers basic hygiene items for families 3 days a week. We welcome your donations. Donations can be dropped off at our office, 1585 Kingston St. Aurora CO 80010.

Emergency Walk-in Services

This program helps families get immediate services. Weekdays, families living in motels can visit CCN for referral numbers for shelters, employment opportunities, health services, and other food and clothing bank choices.

Volunteers
